March 16 Show Recap

On Sunday March 16, Story Sessions returned to City Winery for stories sharing the theme, “Phoenix Rising”, an exploration of triumph over adversity.

Resident band, Dog 1, kicked off the night with an hour of bluegrass.

Resident artist Betsy Cypert was poised and ready to capture the essence of each story with her beautiful live sketches.

Story Sessions alum, Barrie Cole, started the show by sharing her thoughts on the theme through a story about an odd addition to a salad bar.

Host Deanna Moffitt took the helm and introduced the audience writing prompt for the evening – “I was challenged when…” As always, the audience would share their stories on our Story Sessions note cards, which would be collected and read aloud by Deanna between feature stories.
